Today’s was the wedding felt like a family event than work. Having photographed Stacey’s sister Kelly’s wedding in 2009 we’ve been good friends ever since. Stacey’s mum even got in touch to check dates before booking the venue! We started the day with photos of the boys getting ready at Karl’s dads house before heading across Hailsham to see Stacey and photograph her preparations. It was then a short drive to Hellingly Chuch where the wedding was to be held. Getting married at Hellyingly church is quite a family think for Stacey as both her parents and sister got married there.
Although Stacey was very nervous as she walked in she soon relaxed and it was a lovely ceremony with two readings before heading out into the afternoon sun for a few photos before heading off to the reception venue.
Today’s reception was at the very picturesque Powdermills Hotel near Battle. After all the group photos we were able to spend a relaxed session with the happy couple getting some lovely photos by the lake before it was back to the main part of the hotel for the wedding breakfast.
After the wedding breakfast we got to spend a bit more time with Karl & Stacey before their evening guest arrived. I’d had a good chat with the couple before the wedding and suggested to them getting out by the lake after the first dance to get a sunset shot – they we really up for it and loved the idea so after the first dance we nipped up to the lake for some quick photos which I think really came out well.
A great day and a lovely couple.
