Lucie & Ben’s Wedding – Dean’s Place Hotel

Today saw the fabulous wedding of Ben & Lucie at Dean’s Place Hotel in Alfriston. Over the last few months we’ve got to know Ben & Lucie very well and they’re such a lovely couple it was great to be photographing their special day.

The sun shone all day and made it perfect for the ceremony to be held in the gazebo in the grounds of the hotel. Following a lovely service with reading from friends it was on for drinks on the lawn before starting the group photos.

We managed to fit in 2 sessions with the happy couple and got some lovely pictures. We then finished with a couple of photos on the path overlooking the river which was a bit challenging getting a big wedding dress through the tight gates, but defiantly worth the effort.

Lucie & Ben - Just a quick note to say a BIG thank you for coming over last night and spending time going through the photos with us. I cannot put into words how thrilled we are with the pictures.

They are so special and you have captured the emotion of the day so perfectly. The photos will be something that we will treasure forever. Thank you again.

Speak soon no doubt.

Take care,

Lu & Ben.

Edd & Sally wedding – Blatchington Church and Stamner Park House, Brighton

Today saw Edd & Sally blessed at St Peter church East Blatchington, Seaford. Despite the slightly different start to the ceremony (the Bride & Groom walking up the isle together) it  was very much a traditional wedding ceremony.  It was a lovely intimate ceremony lead by an old family friend which really added to the occasion. From the church it was then off to the stunning Stamner Park House near Brighton for the reception and wedding breakfast. We ended the days coverage with a few quick photos in the main room of the house under the amazing chandelier and managed to capture one of my favourite photos from the weddings I’ve photographed this year this year.

Edd & Sally – prewedding shoot

Not really sure what to call this as Edd & Sally had already got married at Christmas in Hong Kong where they live and were back in the UK for a wedding blessing with all their family. So I guess this is really a preblessing shoot! Anyway in a slightly packed week for them we still managed to find time for a shoot at the holiday let they were staying at. As ever with prewedding shoots it always great fun exploring a new location and finding places to take photos. We had a fun hour taking photos and even had some chickens join us at one point!

Michelle & Grant’s wedding

Today’s wedding was a bit of a walk down memory lane for me as we started with the bridal preparation photos at the Wingrove hotel on Alfriston which was where I got ready the day of my wedding some 3+ years before.

After the bridal prep photos we had a short walk over the village green to the church to meet up with Grant and the groomsmen for their photos before the bride arrived. After a lovely ceremony it was an even shorter walk to the village hall right next to the church for the wedding breakfast and the reception.

Michelle & Grant had spent a lot of time on the details for their wedding and had told me they wanted to do things a bit differently – this included the ice cream van they’d arrange as an alternative to a sit down desert which was a great idea for a summers afternoon.

Phil & Lucy wedding – Eastbourne Registry Office and Alfriston Village Hall

Today saw the wedding of Lucy and “Cousin Phil” as I like to refer to him as he’s my wife’s cousin! Lucy & Phil are not only family but good friends too which always makes the day that bit more special to photograph (if that’s possible as all weddings are special and unique).  To add to the drama of the day Lucy was transported to Eastbourne in the AA car a 1905 Renault which bears the registration number AA1 – I wouldn’t even like to try and put a value on such a lovely and unique  car but surfice to say the registration number alone is probably worth enough to pay off the mortgage with a whole load of spending money left over!

Following a lovely ceremony in a packed out registry office it was over to the lovely village of Alfriston to the village hall for the reception. The sun shone all day and was just that final touch to make this a really special day.
